What a cataract is
A cataract is clouding of the eye's natural lens, which blurs vision, causes glare and dulls colours. It develops gradually, and only surgery removes it. Eye drops do not clear it.

A discussion with Dr Manik Mittal about findings and options
Whether surgery is needed, and when, is decided only after examination. If the eyes are dilated, vision will be blurred for some hours, so bring someone along.
Surgery and lens choice
Cataract surgery removes the clouded lens through a small opening and places an artificial lens. Most people go home the same day. We work with all lens brands, from monofocal to trifocal and toric lenses, and your surgeon explains which type matches your eyes and routine.
Charges and cashless support
Cataract surgery starts from ₹12,000 per eye. The final amount depends on the lens and your examination. For CGHS, ECHS and eligible insurance policies, the insurance team on 96251 54575 guides you through approval before the day of surgery.
