Cataract and LASIK assessment for Rohini residents

Rohini is large, and the sector you live in changes how you travel. This page is for people in Rohini sectors 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 13 who are considering a cataract operation, LASIK or a general eye check-up at New Vision Eye Centre in Paschim Vihar.

Distance from the Rohini sectors

We have one centre, in Paschim Vihar, and no branch in Rohini. Depending on the sector, Rohini is approx 5 to 8 km from us. A separate page on our site covers eye care near Rohini in general; this page focuses on two decisions people from Rohini ask about most: cataract and glasses removal.

Cataract: a planned decision

A cataract is clouding of the lens. It grows slowly, and surgery is needed only when it interferes with your daily life or when the eye needs it for another reason. Drops do not remove it. We explain lens options, including monofocal, toric and trifocal lenses from different brands, and you choose with your surgeon.

Glasses removal: LASIK and the other options

LASIK and Contoura Vision are laser procedures meant to reduce the need for glasses. They are suited to adults with stable glasses power and healthy corneas. Suitability for other options such as PRK or ICL is decided after examination. A corneal map, thickness measurement and dry-eye check come before any decision.

Planning the visit

Allow around two hours for a vision-correction assessment, since dilating drops are used. Contact lens wearers need to stop soft lenses for a period beforehand, which we tell you when you book. For cataract, bring an attendant and a list of your medicines.

Charges

Cataract surgery starts from ₹12,000 per eye, LASIK from ₹20,000 per eye and Contoura Vision from ₹27,500 per eye. The final amount depends on the examination. Cashless support is available for eligible insurance policies, CGHS and ECHS, subject to approval. The Insurance and cashless team can be reached on 96251 54575.
