Cashless, CGHS and ECHS eye treatment in West Delhi

Many families in West Delhi ask whether eye surgery can be arranged without paying the full amount up front. New Vision Eye Centre in Paschim Vihar has an insurance team that helps CGHS and ECHS beneficiaries and policyholders of eligible insurers. All cashless approvals depend on the scheme or insurer, not on the centre.

Who may be eligible

  • CGHS beneficiaries, subject to scheme rules and the referral process

  • ECHS beneficiaries, who usually need a referral from the polyclinic

  • Holders of health insurance policies from insurers and TPAs that work with us

Eligibility, coverage limits and room category are set by your scheme or policy. The team confirms what can be arranged before you plan the date.

Steps in a typical cashless process

  1. Examination: the doctor confirms that treatment is needed, for example cataract surgery.

  2. Document check: you share your card, ID and referral or policy details with the insurance team.

  3. Pre-authorisation: the request is sent to the insurer, TPA or scheme. This can take some time, so please do not postpone the call.

  4. Approval: the insurer or scheme decides. If approved, the surgery is fixed for a date.

  5. After surgery: remaining non-covered items, if any, are explained at the counter.

Documents to carry

  • CGHS, ECHS or insurance card

  • Photo ID such as Aadhaar

  • Referral letter, where your scheme requires it

  • Earlier prescriptions and reports

  • Policy number, and any claim intimation if you have already made one

What is usually covered, and what may not be

Cataract surgery is commonly covered under many policies when it is medically needed. Treatments for vision correction, such as LASIK or ICL, are often excluded. Coverage differs between policies, so a policy-specific check is the only reliable answer. Cashless is a facility, not a promise; approval rests with the insurer.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Can I get cataract surgery cashless?

A: It may be possible if your scheme or policy covers it and the insurer approves.

Q: Does cashless apply to LASIK?

A: Usually not, since many policies exclude vision correction. Our team can check yours.

Q: How early should I contact the insurance team?

A: As soon as surgery is advised, because approval takes time.

Q: Is there a charge for the insurance help?

A: Please ask the insurance team when you call.
