Contoura Vision in Paschim Vihar, Delhi

Contoura Vision is a topography-guided form of LASIK. Before treatment, the surface of your cornea is mapped at many points, and the laser treatment is planned from this map along with your glasses power. New Vision Eye Centre in Paschim Vihar provides Contoura Vision under Dr Manik Mittal after examination.

What the corneal map shows

Every cornea has its own curves, much like a fingerprint. A topography scan records these curves and highlights irregularities that a standard glasses-power test does not show. The surgeon studies the map to decide whether topography-guided treatment is appropriate for you, and how it should be planned.

Who may be assessed

  • Adults with a stable glasses power

  • Healthy corneas with enough thickness

  • Reasonable expectations, discussed openly at the visit

Contoura Vision is not suitable for everyone. Conditions such as keratoconus, thin or irregular corneas, or untreated eye disease may rule it out. Other treatments, such as PRK or ICL, are then explained. Which option suits you depends on your assessment.

Steps of the day

  1. Assessment: vision, corneal map, thickness, pressure and retina examination.

  2. Counselling: the surgeon explains the findings, the plan and the risks.

  3. Procedure: numbing drops are used and the laser part takes a short time per eye.

  4. Follow-up: protective eye drops, a rest period and check-ups on the days and weeks that follow.

Things to know

Like any LASIK, Contoura Vision can cause dry eyes, glare or haloes, especially in the first weeks. Rarely, further treatment is needed. Results differ from person to person, and glasses may still be needed for some tasks. After about 40 years of age, reading glasses are usually needed regardless.

Charges

Contoura Vision starts from ₹27,500 per eye. The final charge depends on your examination. The Surgery Counsellor can explain the details on 89296 30330.
