LASIK surgery near Peeragarhi and Meera Bagh: what recovery looks like
If you live near Peeragarhi or Meera Bagh and are thinking about LASIK, one of the first practical questions is how many days of your routine it will affect. This page sets out a typical recovery timeline and the points that the assessment checks. New Vision Eye Centre is in Paschim Vihar, close to these colonies.
The procedure in brief
In LASIK, a thin flap is made on the cornea, a laser reshapes the tissue beneath it, and the flap is laid back. It is used to correct short-sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism. The laser part takes a short time for each eye, but the visit as a whole is longer because of preparation and instructions.
A typical recovery timeline
The same day: rest at home, protective shield and eye drops as advised
The next day: a check-up visit, after which many people see clearly enough to go about light activity
The first week: avoid rubbing the eyes, keep water and dust out, and limit screens as advised
The first weeks: drops continue, and dryness or night glare may be noticed
Later visits: the surgeon checks healing and your vision at the dates given to you
Going back to work
Many people return to desk work within a few days, but this depends on how the eyes heal and what the surgeon advises. Dusty or outdoor work, swimming and contact sports need a longer break. Ask for specific dates at your assessment rather than assuming.
What the assessment checks
The assessment covers glasses power, corneal mapping, corneal thickness, eye pressure and a dilated retina examination. The results show whether LASIK, Contoura Vision, PRK or ICL may be considered, or whether surgery is not advised.
Risks
Possible effects include dry eyes, glare and haloes, and, rarely, the need for a further procedure or problems with the flap. Outcomes vary from person to person, and you may still need glasses for some tasks.
Charges
LASIK starts from ₹20,000 per eye. The final charge depends on the assessment. Many insurance policies exclude vision correction, so please check with our Insurance and cashless team on 96251 54575 before you plan.
