Eye specialist for Vikaspuri and Tilak Nagar residents
This page is for people in Vikaspuri, Tilak Nagar and nearby colonies who want an ophthalmologist for a routine check, a symptom or a planned procedure. New Vision Eye Centre is in Paschim Vihar, and Dr Manik Mittal sees patients by appointment.
Distance from Vikaspuri and Tilak Nagar
We have one centre, in Paschim Vihar, with no branch in Vikaspuri or Tilak Nagar. The two areas are approx 4 to 6 km away. Roads between West Delhi colonies get busy at peak hours, so allow comfortable time. The Green Line metro stop Paschim Vihar East is the nearest station to us.
When it is sensible to see an eye specialist
Sudden change in vision, flashes or a curtain over part of the vision: do not wait, get seen the same day
Slowly worsening blur, glare at night or faded colours
Eye pain, redness or watering that does not settle in a day or two
Headaches linked to reading or screen work
Regular check-up if you are above 40, diabetic or have a family history of glaucoma
Tests commonly done
Vision and glasses power, eye pressure, slit-lamp examination of the front of the eye, and dilated examination of the lens and retina. Further tests such as OCT or a visual field test are advised only when the findings call for them.
Treatment pathways
Depending on findings, the doctor may advise new glasses, prescription drops, follow-up, a procedure such as cataract surgery, or referral for something the centre does not offer. You will be told the reason, the alternatives and the risks, and the decision is yours.
Charges and cashless
Cataract surgery starts from ₹12,000 per eye, LASIK from ₹20,000 per eye and Contoura Vision from ₹27,500 per eye; the final amount depends on the examination. Cashless support is available for eligible insurance policies, CGHS and ECHS, subject to approval. The Insurance and cashless team can be reached on 96251 54575.
