Cataract surgery near Mangolpuri, Meera Bagh and Sundar Vihar
Meera Bagh and Sundar Vihar are among our closest neighbours, at approx 1 to 2 km, and many people from Mangolpuri also come to us. This page is about cataract in particular: the signs, the decision, the day of surgery and the charges.
Close by, with one centre
We have one centre, in Paschim Vihar. Meera Bagh and Sundar Vihar are approx 1 to 2 km away. We have no branch in Mangolpuri or Meera Bagh. For follow-up visits after surgery, a short distance is a practical advantage.
Is it a cataract?
A cataract usually brings misty or blurred vision, glare, faded colours or a frequent change of glasses. Similar symptoms can come from glaucoma, retinal problems or an uncorrected glasses power, so the eye is examined before any conclusion. No eye drop or medicine can dissolve a cataract.
How the day of surgery goes
You arrive at the appointed time with an attendant. The eye is numbed with drops or an injection, as your surgeon decides. The clouded lens is removed through a very small opening and a clear intraocular lens is placed. Most people go home the same day with drops and written instructions. A check-up is scheduled the next day or soon after.
Looking after the eye afterwards
Use drops exactly as prescribed, avoid rubbing the eye, keep water and dust out for the period you are told, and attend every follow-up. Report any increasing pain, redness or fall in vision promptly. Recovery speed differs between people.
Charges and cashless
Cataract surgery starts from ₹12,000 per eye; the final charge depends on the lens, the examination and other health conditions. Cashless support is available for eligible insurance policies, CGHS and ECHS, subject to approval. The Insurance and cashless team can be reached on 96251 54575.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Which lens will I get?
A: The options are explained after eye measurements. You choose with your surgeon.
Q: Are both eyes done together?
A: Usually one at a time.
Q: Can a diabetic have cataract surgery?
A: Often yes, with the sugar under control and the retina checked first.
Q: What if I live in Mangolpuri?
A: You are welcome to book. There is no branch there, so visits are to Paschim Vihar.
